what is a single mom to do when she has had custody of her son who is now 7, & has been the residential parent for all 7 years, is served papers where the father is accusing her of violating the parenting rule? I have always let him see his son, but he has never taken his summer time, holidays, make up weekends, spring break or winter break with my son. he does not even show up or call to say he is not going to show up for his weeknight visit. however this is now the 3rd time he is taking me to court wanting custody or shared parenting. Let me just say each time he has petitioned the court its been within 30 days of his Child support being raised. This is a person who does not call his son during the week, never been to a parent teacher conference..absolutely no involvement other than his every other weekend visit. now once again I am forced to try to defend myself against his allegations & have now spent over 9 thousand dollars in attorney fees & have yet to step foot into the court room this 3rd time around.. This is insane, how do I fight this??? I havent done ANYTHING wrong! I have phone records where I contact him if my son has been to the doctor, two years worth of phone records, he is supposed to request his summer time visitation request in writing by april 1st per the current court order, he has not requested time with his son & is now saying he did it verbally, LIE!!! I mean what do I do???
