Portland-Salt Lake City

We left at 4am. Mommo and Babbo had coffee with us at 3:30. Saying goodbye to them was difficult. Muy difficult. Lucca was sleeping in Mommo’s arms as we chatted and sipped down our caffeine. Then it was time.
We all walked outside and my Man loaded Lucca into the car. He was half asleep [...]

In less than 48 hours we will head off in the direction of Lexington. Loading Lucca and all the clothes/toys/books [...]

Single Parent Night Out! Can I Dance,Yet?

Here is the question:
Can these fresh, fragile boobies handle any dancing yet?
The launch party of SingleParent Magazine is tomorrow  and so is the first ever Single Parent Night Out event. There is going to be a Happily Ever Now fair, mini-speed dating, stage games, Single Parent Bachelor/Bachelorette Dating Game, and then dancing until 4am.
I’m [...]

Love is When Someone Washes Your Stinky Head

I discovered something yesterday. Not about boobs, but about love…
Love is when someone washes your stinky head.
It had been 5 days since a hair wash. It was time for a scrub and a condition, but Doc said no soaking in the tub just yet.
Covered in pizza dough (we make pizza from scratch at least twice [...]

Bandages Removed

This afternoon I went in for the post-opp.
Deep breath.
The Doc removed the bandages.
Another deep breath.
I wore the absolute wrong thing for a check-up. To my credit, it was difficult to find anything that worked in my threadbare Forever21 closet.  Most of the the shirts and sweaters I own cling snugly to the bod–not good when [...]

Boobs Update

Woke up this morning and took a look at my silhouette, torso still wrapped in gauze. For the first time since I had Lucca in the womb, my belly extends farther than my chest.
Not a confidence builder.
Thank god I got the most awesome man on the planet standing next to me telling me I’m still [...]

Good Bye Busty Lady

Good bye busty lady.
I have no more boobies. Well, boobies, yes, but big ones, no. Yesterday I had a bilateral implant removal.
I know, this is very personal matter for a casual blog post, but I’m finding the courage to share it none the less, for a few reasons….

1. body image issues are always relevant amongst [...]

Yes, I am bethrothed. Who needs a ring? Man in Kentucky gave me these instead, and I love them. I call these my engagement boots:
We’ve prepared our trip itinerary on Google and decided to turn it into a grand ‘ole adventure with stops in Moab, Santa Fe (where we first met),Memphis and Nashville. We’re even [...]

The Engagement Scoop, Part 1

It happened one week ago today: the engagement that wasn’t.
Man in Kentucky took me to the Grotto, the Festival of Lights, and the scene was set for the Big Question. A million lights twinkled awaiting the opening pop of a tiny velveteen box.
But the night did not end with champagne flutes of Dom Pérignon, it [...]
