It’s Christmas Eve and what a week of family time it has already been! Lucca and I haven’t gotten a lot of quality time with Mommo and Bobbo thanks to this snow-storm and it’s been bitter sweet, knowing in a month we will be leaving their warm and inviting nest to start a family of [...]

Walking in heels in 8 inches of fresh snow is pretty much like walking barefoot in 8 inches of fresh snow.
But, a girl’s got to get dressed up. Thank goodness for my sister’s Christmas party– its the only reason I’ve had all week to shower and shave my legs .
Stuck indoors, counting down the seconds for Santa to deliver [...]

This was the view from my window this morning:

I wake up every night between 1 and 3am. I’m just wide awake. It’s either the delayed effects of all the Americano’s I drink during the day, or the result of the red wine I drink at dinner turning into sandman-slaying sugar.
Truth is, I don’t mind that much. They are moments I have in the [...]

We’ve been snowed in the past two days! The morning after my birthday a snow storm began and we woke up with almost 4 inches of white covering the ground. Its still here and the roads in Portland are a mess. Church was even canceled yesterday. A perfect reason to stay put and trim [...]

I woke up this morning with a Champagne hangover. Pardon me, it was Cook’s sparkling wine. Not a pretty way to start my 29th year. But maybe the night will eventually be made right through the good of you all who came by to help me celebrate….thank you for the donations you made to [...]

All I want to do today is stand under a hot shower until my body turns into prune. Tears can’t come, but I wish they would.
The cosmic forces in the universe seem to be trying to even the scales on joy. I have so much happiness on one side of life (Man in Kentucky, the [...]

I just returned home from one of the most powerful long weekends of my life. So powerful, I’m having a hard time knowing how to function…You see, I think I’ve entered the Matrix, but I will share more on that later… right now I need to give you all a ring update
Yesterday I [...]

I can’t believe I’ve lived almost 29 years without once sipping a mug full of Hot Buttered Rum.

Brenda Ueland writes in If You Want to Write*,
Don’t think of yourself as an intenstinal tract and tangle of nerves in the skull, that will no work unless you drink coffee. Think of yourself as incandescent power, illuminated perhaps and forever talked to by God and his messengers. Remember how wonderful you are, what a [...]
