Day 2: What a Feeling

I was driving to pick up Lucca this afternoon and I felt high as a kite. Why is the detox making me feel like someone slipped me some really good drugs? Am I enjoying myself? This is wierd. Of course, it is only day 2, day 13 might feel a little different.

With all the new nuts and oils in my diet I am positively giddy. I’ve got that “I can conquer the world” feeling right now. Is it the Fat Flush or is it Flashdance?

Join me on this high! Enjoy some inspiration from the girl’s Rocky:

What are your all-time favorite motivational songs, videos, movies? I want a back stock ready for when come down off this crazy sugar-free buzz.

  1. Well, when I think I’m losing myself I turn to “Shirley Valentine”,

when I need a warn fuzzy because the world is disappointing me I turn to “Anne of Green Gables”,

when I lose faith in love I turn to “Pride and Prejudice” (the one with Colin Firth)

  2. I know its a little cheesy, but I always liked “Pure Shores” by All Saints. “Super Fabulous” by BT, and “Filthy/Gorgeous” by Scissor Sisters always get me going. Can you tell I’m an ex-club rat?

Also the “Love is a Battlefield”, “Beat It” and “No Rain” videos really cant be beat.

Anything by the Dixie Chicks, Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats” isn’t exactly inspirational, but DAMN its a good song.

  3. You guys all rock!
    I love these contributions!

Littlemansmom- oh Colin Firth! He makes me SO happy. =)

  5. 3 musical performances you can easily YouTube and that will transport you for 5 minutes, any time you like:

-Imogen Heap singing “Just for Now” live at Studio 11
-Glen Hansard (and cast) performing “When Your Mind’s Made Up” in the studio recording scene from the movie “Once.”
-Pavarotti singing “Nessun Dorma” in Los Angeles in 1994.

I’m completely ignorant about opera, but Nessun Dorma made me cry the first time I heard it.

    Enjoy!

  6. Lenny Kravitzs’ “Are You Gonna Go My Way” makes me shake it every time.
